PROJECT SUMMARY

Education / Charity

24 Feb 2005

This market garden building was built in 2002 by Bristol AECB members Greenhaus. It is a multi-functional building at a Camphill Community.

Designed with detailed consultation with the staff, this project is one where a small building design takes on larger significance because of its use. Here on an organic farm, it takes on use as a pragmatic potting shed / greenhouse and storage space; but is also used for horticultural therapy sessions with the community's residents (all working through mental health problems). Because of its central position in the garden, it is also a social hub.

Collaboration with local eco builders, Greenhaus, ensured that the specification for locally sourced timber was followed.
