Education

We have now designed and built two structures for our local nursery school. The first had the basic brief to cover a sandpit but inspired by the children's drawings, it has become much more - a wet weather class area, a roof to collect water from, a witch's hat, un upturned boat, a barn .....

Although small projects such as this are inevitably more time-consuming than predicted, there is great satisfaction in our office to design and build something in our own backyard.

Our clients at the nursery school do fantastic creative work and play with the children there, and the two buildings we have completed add to this.

They are both classic 'inside / outside' spaces; creating new routes for trike riding, gathering space for music work, child-sized shelter from the rain etc.

Both have used locally grown timber, partly used in the round, giving the children a clear educational message.
